    Default Does anyone know.....

Does anyone know if there is a pattern for Granny Squares ON POINT!. It seems a simple matter just to turn the block a few degrees but does it work? Just can't see how to make it happen Thanks

https://www.quiltylove.com/scrappy-g...squares-quilt/ this might help you. Just be sure to leave additional allowance on trimming up the block, noted to leave 3/8 vs 1/4 on trimming up the block.

Not sure if this addresses the "on point" aspect or not.

Granny square is not exactly a simple block. But when you place it on point, all the magic and beauty of the block will be lost.
All diamonds will appear as plain squares.
It will become more like an Irish chain block, which can be pieced much easily.
I recommend you sketch it on paper, turn it and see for yourself.

In other words, we make a Granny Square by taking a simple block and placing it on point. Sort of.
So if you place it on point twice, you get the initial simpler block.

Thanks Preeti - I see what you mean. I think I've been fooled by the way the quilts have been shown in that "displayed " kind of way and so the blocks looked on point. Think it could be done with one turn but would give a lot of white space and half square triangles as well at the corners. Think I'll have to give up on that idea!
