Dad's new quilt

yesterday Dad turned 92 and he wanted a new quilt for his bed. More colorful.
So I made him this one. He loves it so much he didn't want to put it on his bed. He thinks it's too precious. I showed him some scraps from Mom's nighties and also some other familymember's scrap.
He turned around and said mischieviously: "hopefully they won't get me tonight and let me sleep in peace."

It is actually very easy to do. I draw a quater of the star on a page of a phone book and sew it full with scraps. Then I cut the "diamond" out with a 1/4" seam allowance add my white scraps to it on both sides. Cut them square and sew the other 3 parts to it. Quilt the block as QAYG add the sashing and quilt it too. Bind it and that's it. I've done a couple. Have a look in my previous albums.
