    Question on baby burp cloths

Hi Everyone, I have a question on burp cloths. I don't find flannel to be very absorbent, but maybe that is just me. I have a charity project coming up and want to make burp cloths. I also want them to be functional and effective. What do you ladies/gents use for the fabric. When I had my boys a Looong time ago I used cloth diapers for burp cloths and they were very absorbent. But at $15 a dozen now it would be quite pricey to make. I hope someone has an idea or two for me. Thanks for the help.

Here is a tutorial I use to make my baby gifts. I use terry cloth yardage for the back. Some people also use bath towels.

A tutorial for burp cloths? When there are a million out in blog land? Okay, at least a thousand. Well, every person adds their own spin on it. And you know, before I got into blogging I had a small etsy business called Joon Bug Baby where I sold blankets, burp cloths, simple baby items […]

      I use the prefolded diapers.
Embroidery a cute little baby design.
Or personalize with the babies name.
Really absorbant and the right size.

I use flannel FQs. Just envelope them & stitch all the way around.

I have always used flannel print on top, and fleece on the back, 7" x 27" with rounded corners. Very absorbent. I have sold over a thousand over the years I made baby items as a hobby business. Once washed the flannel becomes more absorbent. Also useful to mop up a full size coffee..
