    Not impressed with FedexMalView

Clearly my kudos on my previous post was premature.

I ordered from M* on March 13 & 15. They shipped within a day & same day. Good for them. The orders were sent by FedexMailView. Clearly this is NOT FedEx, which I usually get within a week.

When I select the MailView ref #, I get nothing. So I googled MailView and when I enter the reference numbers, I see that they have been sitting in NJ since a few days after shipping fromM*. No other info, so I have no idea if still there, dlots in the river or when to expect it.

Summary - FedExMailView is crappy service. Although USPS to Canada was slow, at least you could follow your package.

I would like to see options for shipping.

    Suzanne,

I feel your pain too. My last ordered first showed a delivery date yesterday. Now it is bumped to Thursday. It sat for almost a week before any movement showed for it. Sigh.

It was the standard $5 shipping rate. I know there is an option to pay more to receive the order faster but chose not to pay extra this time.

    Good luck!

Surepost was bad enough. Mailview is the bottom of the shipping barrel.

        Re: Not impressed with FedexMalView

Feels like it would get there faster with a horse and buggy.

FedEx has their 'ways'. What's annoying is when it's just across the border in GA and they send it back to NC before moving toward FL. Stupid, if you ask me!

Thing is, talking to FedEx is like talking to a brick wall. We're sorry, but they have all the excuses under the sun just a click away. They pick one, and don't make any improvements to the system.

M* is doing their part, getting the orders out quickly and efficiently, but FedEx is dropping the ball. I know you can pay more for a 'better' FedEx time, but it seems like with all of the orders that they have going out, FedEx would do a better job for their customer (Missouri*). Wonder how much longer their contract with FedEx is?

Personally, I'd just as soon have the USPS deliver my packages.

My last order took 9 days to get to me, and they kept changing the delivery date. But the goods shipped the next day. And M* sent a pretty fat quarter too. What I fail to understand is how I can get an order of thread from NV in four days with shipping under $5.00 using USPS, but FedEx takes between 7 and 10 days.

I've had 4 orders since they switched to this mess, and ALL of them took 9 days. I'm less than 200 miles south of the store. Waiting another 9 days for the latest. PS, just because shipping label was created doesn't mean its actually moving. It may sit there for 2 days or more.

Of all the places I’ve ordered from M* has been the slowest.

Me too, including my second-hand books. They USED to be the slowest, but not now.

I don't see an option to upgrade the shipping for Canadian orders. I loved it when plain old FedEx was used, not FedEx MailView. That is definitely their bottom of barrel service.

KarenC. I have many LQS nearby as well, each carrying very different lines of fabric. While I do spend the greater part of my quilt budget there, sometimes they run out of many fabrics in a collection, and they rarely re-order. Also fabrics range from $18-25 per metre, and that add up fast. A few of them have bargain area for 40-50% off but then, it's what's left Ina collection. I know if I'm in a store when they are putting out new fabrics, I check those out, and if I love it, will buy 5-6m. At US prices of $10-12, even with exchange, I order from US.

When they did this with my package I was willing to think it was put on the wrong truck by mistake. If they regularly send FL packages from GA to NC, then FedEx really needs a geography lesson! I, too, would prefer the postal system.

I live at the N Arkansas border and all mine goes to Mississippi then has to come back. Kind of like an idiot race....

Well ladies I feel your pain my order took 29 days to get to Hawaii after slowly getting to the west coast, sitting there for almost two weeks, then turned over to USPS and finally I got it. I had forgotten my ordeal and ordered two jelly rolls on sale, and that one took 2 weeks to get here.

My packages to Florida make at least 3 if not four stops in North Carolina before getting to me on the west coast of Florida. Kernersville, Concord, Charlotte and some other small town. I have tracked them on the map and they literally go back and forth not moving in my direction. Extremely irritating!
