    Default curious

I have been watch a few of Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics. She does a whole lot of finger pressing. So my question to you-do you do much finger pressing and if so do you find it as a plus before actually pressing.

Second question is-I made some of the homemade best press using 1 oz vodka and 1 cup of water-I did not think it was that strong so I made my next batch with 2 oz of vodka and 1 cup of water-still I was not impressed with it-any comments.

I do not finger press. I feel it stretches the seams. I press with steam, gently, on a wool mat. I think perfectly flat seams make a lot of difference in the final project.

I use purchased Best Press and occasionally, I use spray starch.

I'll take my vodka with a couple of vanilla beans to make my own vanilla extract.

I've never used it for Best Press.

Rarely do I finger press and have never used Best Press. I do on occasion use starch before cutting.

NEver used best press but prefer tequila by the oz. Finger pressing doesn't impress me either

I’ve not used tequila but have used aerosol starch and best press. I like a lot of starch before cutting.

I do some finger pressing at the ironing board, after I've set my seams & just before pressing the seam to one side or the other. I use Best Press frequently, esp. to get the folds out of fabric. The last time I purchased it, I ordered a gal. on line. I refill my smaller spray bottle as needed. I've never made the vodka recipe. I use spray starch when I do the final pressing of a quilt top & backing just prior to sandwiching.

I am a finger pressing convert since watching Donna Jordan. If I'm making blocks with very small pieces I use regular store-bought spray starch; haven't tried a homemade recipe.

I finger press occassionally. I use Best Press most of the time. I prefer to use my vodka for making Bloody Caesars.
