    Default Not your normal Dresden.

I have had a flu or bronchitis for over a month so spent some time quilting when I felt like it. My son turns 50 this year and I made this for him. I loved the pattern but wanted to put a man spin on it. Made 4 too many medallions so I made a couple of shams. I don't expect many of you to like it since it deviates so far from the norm. The binding will also be in the orange. Let me know what you think.

I like it! It definitely is not your normal Dresden, but it's gorgeous. Is that background the Stonehenge celtic fabric? I do hope you are over the flu/bronchitis soon!

Love, love, love it. You did a superb job. Bright, happy....who wouldn't love it!! Love dresdens and the checkered ones, I think are one of my favorites.
PS I hope you are on the way to a speedy recovery!

Looks like a great way to use up scraps. With all that blue & orange, it could be a Broncos quilt. lol You did a great job on it. I'm sure it will be greatly loved. I have the Dresden tool but still haven't used it for a quilt.

Oh Contrare Pierre!! I LOVE it!!! I really love the scrappy look and it's so bright and cheerful. Dresden quilt is on my list and I may have to refer to yours when it's time!

Yes, on the contrary, I usually do Not like dresden quilts but really like yours! I love the scrappy and especially the orange! Nice job.

What's not to like?? The checkered dresden is wonderful. I have been trying to decide on a background fabric for my own dresdens and you have opened up a whole new realm of ideas for me. Thank you for sharing. I also love your take on the shams!

I think it's gorgeous! I'm normally not fond of checkered dresdens but yours is fabulous.
