    Beginner quilt suggestion?

Hello MSQC girls! Can you suggest a challenging beginner quilt for me. I've made some table runners and a small modern rail fence quilt so far. I liked Jennie's videos on the Card Trick quilt and the Star Patch quilt. Which one would be better for increasing and practicing my newly acquired quilting skills (which are not quite "skills" yet lol!)? Or would you suggest another pattern?

Thanks for any suggestions! I love your video tutorials!

One suggestion would be, DO NOT make a king size for your first! They are really a challenge to quilt!

Phoebe's Flower box was one of my first quilts...it goes together quite well!

What about the Sticks and Stones quilt, or Diamond Dash.

I would hold off on the card trick, since you are a beginner. One of the ladies in our group showed us her's recently, and she is experienced, but she said she had problems ith this one and would probably not make it again.

I made the stack and flip as one of my first, I’m a beginner too, and it went together well. Just takes a jelly roll and some background.

My first quilt with precuts was the falling charms and I found that it was a fun lesson in layout and color placement , easy to put together but looked complicated enough that I felt proud of my results.

Jenny's Super Simple Hourglass is my favorite fun easy go to. Works up great with charm packs if you have them otherwise just cut your own squares. They can be any size you want as long as they are the same, all 6 inch, all 5 inch, etc. I usually do not border these and they turn out great. It is such a fun one to make because when you cut your blocks it is always a surprise what you will wind up with. The one I made last year won first prize at the State Fair.

Yellow brick road is always my suggestion. It's the only pattern I've repeated and taught many to quilt.

My favorite easy quilts are the cutting corners and the 2 step quilts. Both are great for beginners
