    Default 14 blocks

Good morning to all from the Catskills.....I can use some direction and advice. A friend went to an auction and bought a box for ten dollars. At the bottom of the box were these 14 quilt blocks and 1.5 yards of the blue flower background fabric. My friend gave them to me. I want to honor the beautiful work of these blocks. Not sure what to do with them. Pictured is fabric that I thought would work with the existing blocks. I have about 3 yards of the creamy fabric, and 2 yards of the light lavender. I have also considered a walk hanging or 2. Appreciate your ideas and advice to make use of these blocks.

I would probably use the cream for sashing and the colored fabrics for cornerstones between the blocks, and the floral for a border or backing.

Oh, so pretty. I'm certain whichever way that you finish it will be beautiful. You could add a smaller inner border, since you have the fabric.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

What a beautiful gift your friend gave you. I agree with Cathy F...especially about using the floral for the border. Those blocks beg to be a quilt. I hope you will post a picture of your finished project.

Those are lovely, and you are, too, for honoring someone’s artistry. I like this patchwork way of assembling a sampler http://https://www.thesprucecrafts.c...quilts-4051134 the my blue heaven one.

I might make patchwork strips using your fabric and display the blocks that way.

Yes, a quilt. Put them on your design wall and treat them like a sampler. It will be terrific
