    Default I sold my Janome!

    Hi All!

A few weeks ago, I posted asking everyone's advice about how best to sell a mid-priced machine. I weighed everything, and decided I needed a nationwide audience in order to get the best chance at selling. So I listed on eBay.

I got a low-ball offer within two days, but eventually the guy came up to my "bottom line" price. I was pretty happy, and I have the machine and its accessories all packed up and ready to ship.

We went all weekend without him contacting me AND without him paying me, but I just checked AND HE JUST PAID. So I'm off to UPS tomorrow to ship him the machine.

Thank you for all your good advice. I'm a pretty happy camper right not.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I bought my Bernina on Ebay as well, but it was from a dealer at a shop down in Wyoming. I'd be nervous doing a transaction for that amount to an individual.

Hopefully, your machine is going to a good home!

What did you decide to replace it with? Or did you decide yet???? :-)

Make sure everything clears at your bank before you ship it off!

I'm glad it's worked out. I would be nervous, but sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zone.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

don't worry about the bank clearing if he paid by paypal. They will make sure that you are covered

Yes, he paid via Paypal, so I have at least some level of protection. I like going through the "normal" channels for things like this. My favorite cousin rents out her house on Air B&B frequently. One potential renter suggested they transact privately. That renter proceeded to violate the rental agreement by bringing some kind of pet into the house and leaving a flea infestation behind. No way to leave feedback, but at least they had a cleaning deposit.

What I sold was a Janome 11000, because my sweet hubby bought me a Janome 15000 for Christmas. Our LQS knew I was interested in the 15000, so when one came in as a trade-in, we were contacted. The 15000 is a beautiful machine. I'm quite happy! In fact, I took my first dealer class today!
