I miscounted by one thread on my linen band sampler so I had to tear a small section of stitching out. Somehow I manage to cut a hole in the sampler but fortunately I had read about how you can re-weave linen if you do that. You draw the cut threads to the back, pull a long strand off the edge and using a tapestry needle you just weave over and under to replace the cut part. You can also do this to needlepoint canvas if you ever need to. (If you ever want to nerd out on YouTube, watch some "flax to linen" videos.)

Speaking of expensive natural fibers, I also needed to order more of the silk cording for redoing this section. It cost me fourteen bucks for one spool and coming from Canada, it could take weeks to get here through customs. My previous thread orders from Canadian sources have, anyway.

I can still do beading and ribbon embroidery on the top part while I wait. I guess I have any number of other projects I could start, too.

And spring can come any old time now, if it needs my permission!

YIKE. I've had to occasionally do a 'fix' when I mis-cut on a Hardanger project. It's nerve racking, but in the end, I can't tell where the repair was. Best of luck.

(And I know what you mean about customs. I order from two different Canadian suppliers and both of them I figure ten days to two weeks.) Good luck.

Wow, too bad it's taking so long for your packages from Canada. I guess it's the US customs where it gets delayed. When I order from the U.S., And I check tracking, it's taken 3 days at most, and that's because it's over a weekend. Where do you get your supplies?

I was sufficiently distracted (or bored) yesterday, so I pulled out musical fabric for that quilt. I don't want to overthink it. I'm still moving blocks around.

I got this sandwiched today, I have no idea when I might get it quilted. My version of an Edyta Sitar/Alex Anderson design using a Sitar layer cake.
We are going away next week and will be gone until time for my first cataract surgery. I don't know if I will be able to sew for a while after that and two weeks later they will do the other eye.Click image for larger version.

Beautiful quilt Claire. I hope your surgery goes well. I have a co-worker who just had this done last week. Hopefully he is back to work in a few weeks.

I will check them out and see if shipping within Canada is better.

You are doing goldwork? OMG! I saw the loveliest bird but the kit on The French Needle site was all sold out...it was way about my talent levels anyway.
