Half square triangles. Bloc Loc
I have several HST to make. I am suppose to start with 6 7/8” squares and 8” squares then draw the line on the diagonal and sew 1/4” on both sides of line and cut.
I’m looking for a good way to trim them up. I haven’t bought a ruler yet but was thinking about the Bloc Loc. Would the 6.5”ruler be the right size for the 6 7/8” squares?
Or does anyone else have a favorite way to make them?
Thanks

I am a fan of the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer. You trim the block before you open and press it. I think it saves time and is very accurate.

Re: Half square triangles. Bloc Loc
I have the BlocLoc rulers both sizes and a Martelli rotating mat. They make an awesome pair of tools if you have a lot of HSTs to square up.

I have the 4 1/2" Bloc Loc and love it.
I think the next size is 6 1/2". What is the size that your block is squared to? You can use to that size or smaller, not larger.

My squares before I sew them are supposed to be 4 7/8” and 8”
Does that help in figuring what size ruler I need.?
