    Default My first pantohraph

I traded some of my string strips for a nice complilation of pantographs. Thank you Patt (a forum member!). This is my first panto. It had some daffodills in it and reminded me of a pastel springtime babes being born.
The top was made by a coworkers grandmother. My coworkers grandma realized what is left in her lifetime, she would never be able to sew up her stash, so I received it. I found this quilt top amongst, and finished it over the weekend, backing also provided by her grandmother. My coworker was surprised and couldnt wait to talk to her grandmother to see who it was originally for. I estimate with the mauve/pink that it could have originally been for my coworker. If she then gives it to her little girls it is made by their great grandmother. But then in talking with her, her great grandma was also a quilter and it is possible this was made by her.

Nicely done. That's an interesting way to do the sashing, with no corner stones.

These are the stories that grab my heart and define the quilting world... so much history of all kinds goes into them! If dug deep enough,, EVERY quilt has a story. My home is the same...I could tell a story about every picture or "piece" in it! YES,, it's a bit full,,,but i would not have it any other way... people say,,"it feels like HOME".... and like a museum...
