    Default Jelly roll top

The project I am working on now is a Lap Quilt made out of a jelly roll, of which I have finished the top. The sides are not all even, so I need to find out the best way I can square this up and cut it so that I can now start to attach a small border & binding after that.

Can someone here give me an idea how I go about cutting the sides so that they area all straight.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    Rob explains it pretty well.

I look forward to seeing your quilt!

There are a lot of videos about squaring up. I like Robs energy.

measure diagonaly from corner to corner and then mark it and then to it the other diagonal. That should make it square

He does have a lot of energy, doesn't he! Love him. I am guilty of just using 2 inches of ruler. I'll change that

The edge of your quilting ruler should go along the edge of the horizontal jelly roll strip. This one should be pretty straight. Then use the end of the ruler to make the square corner. Then travel up the sides to trim off the sides that are too wide. I have a big table that I lay mine out on, that makes things easier to square up. Make sure you have it pressed flat before you start trimming.
