I'll add another comment - you should enter that quilt in a show when you're done.

Only if they have a show for most improved. I could line up my three double wedding rings and then they would see this one is better. It is not show quality, but thank you.

I don't even know why I am replying to this as I am the last person that has any knowledge regarding embroidery. I have a machine but never got passed making labels. That being said, your quilt is beautiful but my first thought was by adding more would that take away from the beautiful embroidery you already have. Just a different thought and view.

Your quilt is gorgeous Terry! The embroidery work is quite beautiful and is a major focal point. That being said, I wouldn't add anymore embroidery. If it were my quilt, I'd use a blanket stitch, zig zag, or SITD.

I'm kind of thinking like Georgie Girl. Less is more. I think the embroidery designs really SHINE and IMHO I think they should continue to do so. It's already sew beautiful, Terry.

I thought the same thing. Your quilt is so very lovely. I think a SITD would not compete with the beautiful embroidery. I honestly don't think a decorative stitch would add anything to the quilt.

If you have some leftovers I would suggest you do a Trial. I'm afraid that the satin stitch is so dense that it will stretch the rings. You could just do a straight stitch all around them, it will set them off and should cause less stretching.

My experience with the satin stitch was you need a foot with the bottom groved out to smoothly slid over the stitch as you sew it. I hope this makes sense!
