Default Jonathan's First Taste of Quilting

Here's sweet Jonathan with the quilt he made from orphan blocks. He decided on how the blocks were to be sewn together, then how the blocks were laid out in the rows. He passed the pieces to me to sew and added a little extra gas to the machine trying to sneak in a little extra pressure on the foot pedal.

He picked the purple backing (at Uncle Mike's suggestion). He's proud as punch and couldn't wait to get home to get a Christmas bag for the quilt. I wonder how long he'll wait before he gives it to baby Charlotte.

You can see from that smile that he is one proud little boy. You're doing a great job with him Katrina.

Its amazing how fascinated little boys are with our hobby. I think its there natural gravitation to building and engineering. And of course, the love of their grandmothers.

How precious! Enjoy the time now.....ya never know how long it'll last. My son was interested in making quilts when he was young......kids tease, kids grow. He still loves quilts (knows all the lingo, etc) and really appreciates them, but not interested in making any. Which is fine with me.

    His smile is worth.....everything!

    How sweet. Good job J.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!
