Early xmas gift -- Cricut Maker

I'm so excited to get it set up. I will have to give it name, as it is special.

After researching many machines (Silhouette, Brother, Cricut Air Explorer), to cut fabrics, other materials and balsa wood, this was the only one that seems to do them all. It was on sale at Michael's this week, and we got the knife blade for wood. We will be able to use for fabric and DH will also be able it to design small buildings for his train room.

I would love for your to share ideas that you might have used it for.

I just have the original Cricut machine. I use it for scrapbooking and card making. My granddaughter has the Cricut air and she uses it with vinyl. To make custom stickers for cars, walls, ect.

Congratulations! I used my maker to create Christmas cards last year. Here are a couple of thoughts for you:

- Cricut.com is having a sale online right now. A lot of the specialty blades are on sale, as well as other accessories. Browse what they have but do it quickly before they sell out.

- There are some great tutorials on YouTube on working in Design Space, the software that you use with your Maker. Look for ones that say Cricut Design Space 3.

I watched Martha Stewart on QVC demonstrating her Cricut and knew I would love to own one. Maybe now is the time to treat myself with the online sale, etc. I'm happy that you have the bigger one that will do much more than cut fabric. Have much fun with it.

I have seen this, but not in action or on YouTube and can't quite wrap my head around thinking there must be alot of fabric waste. But I know lots of scrapbookers who have Cricuts for paper and they absolutely love them. My dd has two diff ones! Have fun with it and please come back and let us know how you like it.
