    Default Palliiativ care

    Hi

I just got the news that it is time for my mom to get palliativ care.
She has stopped eating and is now refusing her meds. She is 84.

She is so week that is hard for her to speak. She has stated that she does not wont live more.

So my sister and I agree with the nurses that she should be allowed to make her choise.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Annika, so sorry to hear abour your mom. Life should be about quality but it sure is hard to except when that time comes to say goodbye to those we love. My dad passed in September, and while I know he is at peace now, I selfishly wanted him forever.

Prayers for comfortable days for your mom. Hugs to all.

Stay strong, Anika. I am sure your heart is breaking. You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers during this particularly difficult time.

Anika, I'm so sorry. It's a very hard time to go through. Once my mom made up her mind, there was little we could do other than make her comfortable. Lifting prayers and sending you virtual hugs across the miles.

Annika, sorry to hear about your mom, but I am certain she will have good care, and her wishes respected.

Cherish and talk to her about your good memories.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.
