I had some black and white photos printed on fabric, white muslin, 2 years ago at Staples. It was on a small doll quilt I made for my GDs, only about 18 x 24. I was at my daughter's house a few weeks ago and noticed it in the play room. All the photos were very faded, blurry and smudgy looking. She said it had never even been washed. For a kids play thing it doesn't matter, but I would be sick if I made a large quilt and this happened. I don't know what caused it but it definitely scared me away from doing any photo prints in the future. I hope you have much better luck than I did.

You can do it through Spoonflower, but it's not cheap

I really think he is overestimating my skill level!
He would want the fabric turned into an awesome queen size quilt before Christmas.

I think getting the fabric ordered and delivery time on just that could easily take that long.
He's in Texas and I am in Colorado so more shipping time.

I will likely have to turn this one down.

Besides all that I am NOT an experienced quilter! Things take me much longer and still are mediocre at best.

A queen before the holidays? He's a few months late. Maybe he can wait until next year. At least you can explain the reasons without feeling bad about it.

That's very true, a queen with special fabric before Christmas.

The reasons for a no are very real indeed.

you can do it yourself if have an inkjet printer, copy, or scan into computer, set the settings on printer to best, print, leave 10 minutes remove backing then wash. I iron using backing parchment over top to dry,
    have used this product.
didn't photo bucket print things out?

I guess he has no idea that at this point you'd have to change the size and also the pixels just to send it to Spoonflower. Then it will be about two week just to receive the fabric pictures. You'd also have to order sashings and backgrounds which I usually don't order until I see how the fabric turned out so it coordinates. So maybe you'll get it by Dec 1 if you're lucky. In some cases you also need a special stabilizer. Then you need whatever you'd like for the backing. You'll need to ship it about two weeks before Christmas. That would give you maybe two weeks to piece it together and also to quilt it and naturally it needs batting and of course bind it. Did he say how many pictures you wanted to use for the Spoonflower fabric?

My guess is that the cost of materials alone will be about $100. How much does he think he'll be paying for it even if you could get it in time? I'm also curious what type of theme is the quilt he wants?
