    Default WiP Nov 9 - 15, 2018

We had our second round of snow so far this fall last night. It didn't stick to the roads, but the trees and grass look like a winter postcard! Unfortunately, I do have to work today. I would much rather hibernate at home!

I'm doing more packing than crafting right now. I did get my knit socks finished this week and another couple of blocks for Aunt Lottie's Garden appliqued down. I've got 12 of the 30 blocks done and the borders drafted. I will need to make yards of bias binding for the 'stem' part of the border and need to get some Paper Pieces templates for the leaves. There's a lot more hand applique yet to go on this one.

Question for those of you who have done an applique border: Piece together first and then applique the border, or applique first then piece the entire top? (not that I'll be to that decision point for several months yet)

Please share what's going on in your world.

I've been laying out fabric for a pieced back for the stacked coin quilt. Also FMQ'ing on mug rugs for sewing group friends.

I'm finishing the square in a square topper which will go on my pile for quilting in the new year. Then it's on to quilting the first of my 2 Christmas throws.

I want to get the lap throws done by the end of November as I was to make some no sew ornaments in December, then I'll return to sewing again.

    .

I appliqued first as wrangling all that fabric in the harp of my machine was too much work. Especially if you have to turn it to go around the edges. But I was doing it by zig zag, not free motion.

No snow yet, here in Vermont...but, I have started on Christmas decor. It will be a challenge to put a 7.5 foot tree in the smaller place we moved to recently.

Sherri, this one is on my "to do" list! Your pillow is so pretty.

Same as last week. Mostly working to finish the last of many advent calendars, which will be available at next week's craft show. I need to pull out bins of products that I have and see what more is needed. I may need to make up some quick gifts to fill a void.

I have decided that this is the last show that I will do. So whatever remains, will be kept to give as gifts or donated.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.
