    Default Feeling so sad

Am feeling so terrible tonight. My niece was killed in a car accident last night. Just 24 years old, her whole life ahead of her. Give your loved ones an extra hug. Because you just never know.

Jocelyn, I forgot something. Your niece--are her parents alive? There is an organization called The Compassionate Friends that supports families who have lost a child. I have heard wonderful things about this organization. They understand that the loss of a child -- of any age -- is a unique grief that most people cannot truly understand.

Right now, you and your family are still in shock, and consumed with the details of making funeral arrangements. Eventually, the dust will settle but the heartache will not. Everyone grieves in their own way. The Compassionate Friends is a resource your family can turn to in navigating the grief journey.
