I like this one ! Both color and pattern!

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Would someone remind me of the "tool" Jenny is using to square up the triangles. She doen't mention the name and it's not in the supplies list. I've seen her use it before but....old brain is not working! Many thanks.

She uses the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer, currently out of stock at M*. I think it's a little pricy, myself.

The Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers are an easy, efficient, and accurate way to square up half-square triangles. Simply align the seam of an unpressed half-square triangle with dashed lines and trim all four sides. The edge slots allow you to trim off the dog ears at the same time! It can also be used for squaring up

Thanks so much! I too think it is pricey.

You can square up your half square triangles with the Cozy's Strip Tube Ruler , it just doesn't have the slots to cut the dog ears. https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop...rip-tube-ruler and it comes in two sizes.

I think the ruler she is using is way over-priced. I use the Quilt in a Day Triangle Square Up Ruler. I got it at JoAnns and it is much less expensive and does the job just as well. If you have a 40% off coupon you will really get a bargain.

The block lock will do the trick, too. Any square ruler with a diagonal line will work but I really like my block lock one for the job.

I keep coming back to this quilt. I really like it! lol, and who has 2 packs of layer cakes just sitting around watching me sew other things up, sighing in the corner... Me! That's who! Can you see it https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop...y-ten-squares- I'll have to decide if I want a crisp white, or if snow would look better.

My Creative Grids rulers work just fine for squaring up. Any ruler that has that diagonal line across will work for squaring up. I use my 6.5" ruler the most for any block that is that size or smaller.

I love the clearly perfect trimmer and think it is well worth the price. You actually get 2 rulers in the package. It makes trimming so fast; I usually can make just one cut vs the time it takes to line up the diagonal line, cutting 2 sides then flipping the block, lining up the diagonal again and cutting the other 2 sides.

I too have the clearly perfect trimmer.... I love it. Was shy of the price at first, but the investment was so worth it. I hate squaring up. but, you can do it with one slice with this trimmer. The others drove me nuts with turning and that second or 4th cut. I have the block lock and it wore me out.

This is a one measure, slice n go trimmer. Two come in the pack and each one cuts about 6 sizes... Whole and half sizes.

That said... I really like this quilt. 16 inch blocks are just my style. Right now, I'm just a bit fried on HST's. Going to do some other shapes for a while. LOL. But, I would make this.

I love that layer cake! Unfortunately white isn’t a color I can keep in my house! I’ve started several blue and white quilts knowing I can’t keep them but that’s probably why I haven’t completed them yet. Dogs and white quilts just do not get along.

I have been tempted by these but also thought they were a little high since other ones do the same thing. Do you feel the "lock" feature is worth it? I've been hoping for a sale on them to try one out.
