I had to look that up and it almost sounds like what my mom used to make, but she added dumplings. I found this and if you read the comments you get a good idea of what this is. Very interesting.

Interesting. I didn't know there was a difference. Thanks for the question and for the link. Let us know how it turns out.

It does look good but is more a soup with dumplings.

I want that crust and delicious gravy too. I make a mean CPP if I do say so. It is generally a two day process so I make two at a time. One to share with DD or send to a friend under the weather.

I make something similar but I call it "chicken and noodles". I use the chicken soup stock from a jar rather than bouillon-richer tasting and less salty. One other thing different-my kids liked it spooned over mashed potatoes.

Yes, Chicken Pot Pie is definitely a different thing to us Pennsylvanians. I don't even know why it's called a pie since it's all thrown in a pot with chunks of dough! LOL My DH makes really good Ham Pot Pie. I'll have to dig up his recipe to share. I love having a husband that cooks as well!

Wow!! you have choosen best recipe and its my favorite too... k try the things which i have given below & i promise you that sure the results will come good.

    Ingredients

2 Bell & Evans bone-in split chicken breasts
    8 Cups Chicken broth
4 Medium Yukon gold potatoes, peeled & large diced
3 Medium Carrots, peeled & large diced
    2 Large Stalks Celery, diced
1 Medium Sweet Onion, peeled & cut into quarters
    Salt & pepper, to taste
    Pinch- ground turmeric

    Directions for use

In a large stock pot add chicken broth, chicken and a pinch of turmeric.
Bring to a slow simmer. Cover and cook for approximately 30-40 minutes until chicken is thoroughly cooked to an internal of 170°F as measured by a meat thermometer. Remove chicken from broth and allow to cool. Once cooled, remove skin and pull meat from the bone into large pieces.
To the stock pot add potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion. Cook for 10 minutes uncovered at a low simmer.
Bring to a boil and slowly add noodles piece by piece. NOTE: A rapid boil is key when adding noodles, otherwise they tend to stick to one another. Once all noodles have been added, reduce heat to a low simmer. Cover and cook for approximately 20 minutes until vegetables & noodles are tender.
Uncover, add chicken and continue to cook on a low simmer for another 20 minutes. NOTE: This recipe gets better with time
Season with salt & pepper, to taste. Add parsley as a garnish.
