Default Make a Star Patch quilt with Jenny!

Today Jenny shows us a real cute Star block quilt.
Really love the quilting on this one.

Have a great day and enjoy the tutorial!

Love it! I think I'd use rectangles and snowball the corners for the star legs......instead of all the seams making them with squares......just thinkin.....
Thanks so much for posting this!

I think this would make a nice Christmas quilt. I have an older SnowFolk jelly roll and charm pack I can use.

I'll have to watch it later, but I saw the beginning of it and really like the pattern.

When I sew strips together that are going to be sub-cut I shorten the stitch length to 2.0. I also sew a narrow seam around the perimeter of the quilt top when there is a pieced border to prevent the seams from pulling out when the quilt is stretched in the LAQ machine.

I love the quilt and the block, BUT I wondered why Jenny made all the half square triangles instead of just making flying geese. I usually end up with a far more straight piece when I do flying geese rather than 2HST and then joining them. Each time you sew and press seems to chance it to be a bit wonky. I also would be cutting fewer times. I do have several ways to make gees so....

    Anyone have a thought?

I agree, I too would use flying geese rather than 1/2 square triangles. Especially since both pieces were cut from yardage.
