Welcome from Wisconsin! Piecing on the machine is just plain old straight stitching so that should be easy for you. When I got my machine, a pretty basic noncomputerized model, I also bought a 1/4 inch foot that has a small metal ridge on the right hand side of it. That ridge hugs the side of the pieces you sew together and gives you a really consistent 1/4 inch seam. Some people stack up layers of blue painters tape that effectively does the same thing but I like the presser foot with the guide. Have fun with your new project and don't hesitate to come here with any questions, or post pictures of your quilt. You can do it!!

Thank you! I'm originally from Wisconsin. A cheesehead to the core!

I guess I should say Go Packers but I am not a football fan. Love cheese though. And custard and Kringle, oh boy!! And weird coincidence, my husband went to law school at U.T. so we lived in Knoxville for awile then later Nashville, before moving back to Wisconsin, so the flip side of you! Go Big Orange!
