    Default Walking foot quilting ideas

Help! I'm in a major time crunch. I have a Phoebe's Flower Box quilt top done and need to get it quilted by Thursday. I'm not comfortable enough to FMQ so I want to quilt it using my walking foot.

Any ideas on how to quilt it? I'd like to do more than stitch in the ditch.

    Thanks!

    Lori

Do gentle waves all over. Think connected, elongated S. Use your guide to make the waves north and south as close or as far apart as you want. If you want to spend a little more time you can also turn the quilt 90 degrees and make crossing waves east to west too. Draw your first wave with a removable marking tool and then just follow and echo. Craftsy has some classes on quilting with a walking foot.

Lots of good ideas here. Try looking at the waves sections. Waves looks especially nice if you use a variegated thread.

An unevenly spaced plaid grid also looks nice.

    Cross hatching works well, too.

You could also do straight lines, north to south. It's my go-to...I use my quilting guide bar and set it for how far apart I want the lines. It goes really fast too.

Thete are several tutorials on Youtube from Jacquie Gering to learn different quilting techniques and designs with a walking foot.
