    Birthstone Garnet & 1st 6 together

    Here is the Birthstone Garnet block pattern designed by MJ Kinman. I decided to use needle turn applique to attach the garnet to the background.

    Here are the first 6 of the 12 blocks together.

    So far the amethyst block has been the easiest one to assemble, although the Pink Tourmaline is still my favorite.

    I will be doing the Aquamarine block next.

    So pretty! What is the yellow one again? I have a ring from my mom that color.

      Birthstone Citrine is the yellow block

            It makes me wonder what October's look like. I love opals, but I can't imagine if they'll use opal or an alternative.

                Your block is beautiful. Garnet was my ex MIL's birthstone. Bittersweet, my ex bought his mom a lovely garnet ring the first year we were married. She alsways said it would be mine. After 30 years of marriage to her son, and years after she died, I didn't get it. I'm ok with that. I realized my ex got the ring. He was mummy's boy..

                  All your blocks are just stunning. Do you have any ideas how you will quilt it? Do you sew 8 hours a day or something? You sure have put these togrther fast, and they all look perfect.

                    All of these blocks are stunners and will make a truely beautiful bling quilt!

                      Your blocks are beautiful. My son sells luxury jewelry and would have loved this but I’m finishing up a zipper quilt for him. Wish I would have seen the gem quilt first!
