    Default Grocery shopping bags.

    As plastic shopping bags are banned in Australia,thought I'd make my own,any ideas,that look nice.

    Don't know if you can get the mesh fabric down-under, but that would be fantastic for these bags.

    I like the rectangles with the insulated liners so I can carry frozen and cold foods. I have zippers on mine.

    They were banished years ago on Kauai. I buy the plastic ones they sell at the store that are flat bottom and sturdy with straps. I made one from some canvas and it's pretty much the size of a paper bag.

    We went to Ikea and bought the nylon ones they sell for a buck. The fold up into a pocket about four inches square and fit inside my purse. Can't make them for that price!

    This is what I make for grocerys. I make them from heavy natural canvas and they have cotton web handles. They are about the size of the old brown bags. Hubby cuts a piece of thin light weight masonite for the bottom.Click image for larger version.

ID:	153734 I have a similar one that I made insulated with a zip top for when weather is hot . It is an old McCalls pattern 6320 you can search maybe still find it.
