    Default 2 block quilt

If you could make a quilt using only 2 different blocks, which 2 would you pick to work with? I am trying to challenge myself and use up my stash too. When I could not sleep last night I wandered into quilting room and thought of this challenge. My first thought was to use my 2 favorite blocks-9 patch and log cabin-but not sure these would work.
I guess I am just getting bored with one block quilts and following a pattern is not challenging enough either.

I've been looking too....I like the 9 patch with the hour Glass. The one I saw had neutral hour Glass blocks with color and neutral 9 patches.

9 patch and hour glass for my sister...Oh, I do apologize. Before someone else catches the error on my part....there is more than two block patterns. Well, I can't delete the post...please ignore...

Maybe it's time to try a new technique. Rather than making blocks, try playing with tube piecing. Irena Swanson has some good videos on youtube about how to tube piece your quilts.

My Freedom Star quilt was a 2 block quilt. Log cabin block & star block. These are Henry Glass fabrics. There should be more pics in my album. You might check there. Click image for larger version.

ID:	153724 Eleanor Burns also has a 2 block quilt called "How Charming", which is 4 patches with another block. Also in my albums. I think she has a free tutorial on YT. One of Jenny's tutorials (long time ago) was for the Rail Fence & 9-patch blocks. I used that pattern for a baby quilt. Also in my albums. Lots of possibilities!

I made one using a nine patch and a snowball block.
It was a crib quilt and turned out really cute.
Plus these are easy blocks and would work
    great as a scrap quilt.

How about a jacob's ladder alternating with a king's crown block.Click image for larger version.

I agree. Maybe a string quilt!
