I think I understand why you hesitate with your neutral choices. I am also trying this leader/ender project, but I keep changing my mind on the neutrals. I have pulled out all my florals, but, I am going to use only my darkest florals for the HST. Using neutrals, the half-squares fade out. Or if my HST are too neutral, they blend too much with my four patches. I really love that you chose reds and oranges. I agree that yours will be a beautiful scrappy quilt. If this was my quilt, I would place the yellow where the HST creates one star. I love scrappy, but I like controlled scrappy even more!! Keep rearranging your squares until you are happy with it. Thats part of the fun. Happy stitching!

Mine is ready to sew into rows, I ended up with 10 blocks so I made a half block and picked another into two halves so I have 3 rows of 3 1/2 blocks which will be staggered. I am considering sashing to avoid making all those points match. don't know if I will sash or not.
I did have all the 4 patches made [and I have lots more]
