Default A star in a sea of blue

I can not stand having left over blocks and I had one left from the quilt top I finished for a stranger that I posted last week. I started looking at what I had in the way of strips and thought well I have some from the chevron top I did and other odd widths of blues. So the star became the center. I finished it with just random log cabin blocks. No light and dark. When I was done assembling it I had two blocks left over. Dang this started because of one left over block. Well since this is a Quilts of Valor top I decided to incorporate the 2 blocks into the pillow case we always give with the quilt. Hope you like. However one of the blocks in the case had the same fabric as the case so it looks smaller. It is not Looks fine in real life.

Very pretty! The pillow cases were a great way to beat the “no extra blocks” problem.

Your projects look like the definition of Americana to me. Lovely job. Perfect timing too with the 4th so close.
