Default Is there still hexie-fever, I picked up mine last week

Couple of years ago there was a huge hexie fever going on here.
Are there still ladies working on theirs?? Or men ofcourse??
I was bored last week, finished two memoryquilts and they were picked up, so I had no clue what to do.
Then I saw my box with hexies, started again and still love working on it.
My goal is a charm quilt, no two fabrics should be alike. Hope to make this into a babyquilt, my daughter #1 is going through IVF with her husband. It is a long and heavy road to travel. In a differnt way so is a hand stiched hexie quilt, hope to put it in a babybed some day. They had their sixth embryo tranfer last saterday, so very anxious and stressful times overhere. Prayers would be so much appreciated!!!

So back to hexies, if you are working on a hexie project, please share yours!

Here is what I have joined so far

    Happy quilting

I look at my hexie boxes almost every day. I've been so busy with everything else, it's kind of been just sitting there. I normally take it to Dot's house and work on it while I'm there, but not this year. Flying... I just don't have room for the boxes.

I have a feeling I'll bring it out again after I work on the quatrefoil I want to do for Christmas.

Still working on some. Not much during the winter months but now that summer is here I work on some hexi project almost daily for a bit. Currently just working on putting together a piece of "fabric" with a few mini charm packs I fell in love with. When finished I will most likely turn it into a bag or tote of some sort.

Still working on my hexi quilt I try and work an hour on it each evening before bed - this was a little tid bit from Tula Pink on how she works on her hexi's. Figure if I can do this I should have a nice bunch of them done and can then start to connect them all.

I never jumped on that bandwagon. Although I did take a class to learn 6 different techniques and one of them was Hexies. I liked it, but thought these would take a long time. Now that we are planning a trip, I think it might be something I could do while on long flights or waiting in airports.
Best wishes for a new baby.

    First, Klasien - prayers!!

I have over 3600 1 inch hexis and have only sewn part of them together. Wish they were the size of yours! I made mine using the circle technique, and loved making them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHYkV55T5hc

I'm still working on my hexie quilt. I have two flowers to finish then I will be ready to join with the solid white and add a border. I'm making a queen size so it's going to take some time. My goal is to have it hand quilted by the time I'm 60. I have 5 years so I better get moving.

Thank you my dear friend Sandy.

I just watched the video. That is very interesting, I wonder how they will go together since you don't have the paper as a guide where to stich. I think mine are 1,5" hexagons.
Would love to see them, fabric is double so they should be very sturdy I will give it a try and make them 1" so I know how they look.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For bringing this up now.

I went in and looked at my big box. I've already sorted my hexies to make the flowers. They've just been sitting there. So I threw all of them into a gallon size ziplock bag. Then I put my embroidery scissors, a smaller spool of thread, a pack of needles, my cutter ring and hummingbird threader in an old cosmetic bag that fits in one side pocket of my tote bag. I am going to take my hexies with me! I'm excited to work on it again!

Wauw, your post made me smile!!!
Good for you, take those hexies wherever you go and you got yourself a quilt before you know it.
Let's motivate each other and get those hexies sewn up!

I really enjoyed your enthousiasme, thanks that was just what I needed!
