    Default What pattern is this?

My niece wants me to make her a queen size quilt just like this colors and all. She got the photo off Pinterest. To me it looks like a scrap quilt made from strips. Any ideas? Also do you think these fabrics are batiks? Thanks.

First glance I thought it was the weave quilt, but now I'm not sure, may just be scrappy.

definitely looks like batiks. The pattern? Looks like strips sets of about 8 inches with 2 1/2 inch squares inset. I would bet that you can come up with something that she will believe is the same

I vote batiks too. Hard to tell the pattern but wouldn't the Keyhole pattern look so pretty in batiks?

Ask your neice if she can find it again on Printerest. You can usually drill down to the site it came from and that might give you a clearer picture of what the pattern is. Sure looks like batiks to me, too.

The searches I did show the quilt is called "In the Garden #3", Owned and quilted by Carla Barrett. Pieced by Barb Kiehn.

That would lead me to believe that it is a personal design, one created by Carla. It does say it is made from batiks.

Looks like 3 1/2 strips and squares sewn together randomly to me. I would make a small sample and see if she is happy with the look.
