Default Make a "Summer School" Quilt with Jenny!

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

This is really an interesting video, I will try to create one on my end. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks Annika. Not sure it is for me.

It's adorable, but looks a bit tedious (after working on Rob's Stars, Stripes and Diamonds). Maybe when I've recuperated from the quilt I'm working on, I'll have a different attitude about it.

I like the fish, but I personally don't like turning on-point blocks into squares in order to make rows - I just hate all the seams that come together on each side.

I think I might try this by making the fish, squaring them off, then just alternating with background squares in a traditional on-point layout with setting triangles down the sides and on all four corners. It is a slightly more advanced set of steps for layout, but for anyone that has set blocks on point before it's really not difficult.

Another alternative would be to use setting triangles to make each column (or row) of fish blocks and then stagger them so that each row of fish is lined up but the rows themselves have some "movement" to them - like the fish are swimming a little more naturally and not all perfectly aligned.

And of course on a light blue solid or a blue watery batik as the background fabric would be just adorable!

    So many ideas now...

Love it. Wouldn't it look cute with a row of beach houses at the top of the quilt. I am pretty sure Jenny had a tutorial on houses. On my list!

I agree with this. This is how I plan on doing it too.
