Newbie quilter

Hi everyone,

I'm new to tthis forum and new to quilting - I've made a couple of quilts after watching Jenny's tutorials and they have gone OK.





Now I am looking to make a version of the Tranquil Triangles quilt but was planing on using quarter square triangles made from a layer cake to make up the nine patch. Do you think that it'll work ok? and if i make it 4 blocks wide x 4 blocks deep how do I know how much fabric to buy for the backng - and for the binding, the maths is really hurting my head

Hello and welcome to forum from so. calif. I so relate to those math headaches. I have never made that pattern so I am of no use there but I want to say you did a great job on your quilt. As Star Lover said, someone will come along and help you.

I don't worry about the back until the top is done. Then I measure it and it's less difficult to figure out.
