Default Love the "Stars and Stripes" Tutorial

I fell in love with Jenny's newest creation featured in her "Stars and Stripes" tutorial. I waited for a Daily Deal that I liked to buy the required Jelly Roll, but by then it was sold out.

MSQC: With the Tonga Treats "United" Jelly Roll sold out and available absolutely nowhere else online, would you please consider creating a kit for the Stars and Stripes tutorial? Because there's no other Jelly Roll that can make this quilt! It has to be precisely the right number of red, white and blue strips, and they all have to basically be tone on tone.

    Hoping this is possible!
Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?

When I saw this and before I knew it was a Tonga Treat Jelly Roll, I immediately thought it was Stonehenge or Grunge fabric. Or you could just get a collection of red white and blue blenders. We have a shop here in St. Louis called Batiks Plus, they carry two complete lines of Hoffman Batiks in blenders ( over 300 in each) plus a huge collection of batik prints. They have an online store, check them out at Batiks Plus.com. It is my "Happy place" to go when I need fabric to cheer me!

    Hi Jean,

Good referral! Thank you. (And isn't it a compliment to M* that they allow a competitor's website to be posted in the forum!!!)

So, thinking this through, I could buy a number of red, white and blue blenders in 1/4 yard cuts and re-create the Jelly Roll in the appropriate number of each color. I like this! Thanks for the idea!

actually, if I were buying fabric for this, I would buy less variety of prints, and buy 1/2 yard of each to cut strips. That is the most economical and least wasteful yardage to cut strips from ( about 7 with just 1/2" waste) . I think the colors are what make this quilt beautiful, not necessarily the prints. I looked at Batiks Plus website and they have a really cool red Hoffman batik with stars on it. Thought about taking a fabric stash fulfillment trip over there and picking out some red white and blue for this beautiful quilt, because I really liked the design also. Shall I dip for two?

Got our Batiks! So pretty and the Hoffman Batiks feel so good! Now I need to be on a fabric diet after this blowout shopping trip!

Hi Barb! It is a great quilt, isn't it. And Jean is so sweet for making this custom pre-cut kit for me. I feel utterly pampered!
