Default Fell in love with a fabric, how much to buy?

    Hi all,
I am in severe need of a well deserved reward and what did I see today? Someone's project that's being made with Summer on the Pond by Holly Taylor for Moda. And Missouri Star has it. And we spend the summer on a pond. And I have the money for some. Oh and I love herons if I really need another reason.
So, you can see it's meant to be.
So, how much should I buy? I have no idea what I'll make but maybe a few sets of cafe curtains or a Queen size quilt adding some additional fabrics.
Go ahead, enable me. (I'm leaning toward a three upward cut of the heron fabric),
    Thanks,
    lots2do

    If I love a fabric I buy 5 yards or 6.
I can back an 80"x80" quilt with 5 yards if I don't use it in a quilt, so it won't be wasted. 4 yards is too iffy. Just a tease that will bug me because it's generally not enough for a backing, and certainly not enough for a 2 color quilt, should I decide to go that way.

If this is a high demand, popular fabric better stock up FAST. I usually wait too late then it's all gone.

You know, as soon as you buy something, you will come across another item even prettier...Just saying.

If I like most of the line, I'll buy the precut (layer cake or jelly roll). If I just like the fabric as a focus fabric, I'll buy a yard or two. If I like the fabric as a neutral, I'll buy at least 2 yards. If it's on sale for $5/yd or less, I'll buy 5 yards to use as backing.

Which fabric in that line is the *ONE* for you, lots2do? There are several cute ones.

I just looked at those fabrics. The only one that really shows up the heron well is the one with the light background. I checked out the pre-cut packs. Many of those fabrics are very dark -- lots of purples. I do like Holly Taylor's fabrics. I have some in my stash. I think you'd have to really like these fabrics & colors to stock up on any of them.
