Default Opinion please on quilting motif

Well its that time again. Staring at the quilt top like a deer in the headlights, waiting for inspiration to strike. This quilt top is called Carnival. I am trying to invoke memories of carnival rides at night.

Can you please give me an opinion. Does this quilting motif compliment the quilt, or detract from the quilt? I would be using red and grape 70 weight thread alternating color between each adjacent flower.

Did you draw that on glass? I think the colors you said would look great on this.

I use vinyl to draw on, with a dry erase marker. I put painters tape around the outside edge of the vinyl so I don't slip and accidentally draw on the quilt top. I can erase easily and try different things until it looks right. Then I try to figure out how to actually quilt it.

Is this too busy a design?

I'm just a beginner but I think it gives the quilt a lot of movement. Love the colors!

I don't think it's to busy. I'm going to try your vinyl trick!

I like the motif. It reminds me of many happy times riding the ferris wheel and looking out to the ocean when I was stopped on the top. You will have a beautiful quilt.
Thanks for teaching me about the vinyl and glass to see how a motif will look. I want to try that in the future.

    Very pretty!

How about auditioning pebbles in the center?

Just a suggestion to try: Try and draw your design with less petals on each flower, I think it would open up the design and not be so busy. Beautiful choice of colors and pattern.

I think it is beautiful. And with 70 wt thread it won't look as bold as it does in this pic with the black marker. I think it will be perfect.
