I think my next ones will be better, they are better quality jelly rolls with way more colors and patterns.

That's the magic of the Jelly Roll Race quilts, you never really know what the final lay out is going to be until that last seam is sewn. That's what makes each one so unique and special from any others JRR quilt. I love the pinks & blues in your quilt! Congrats on your first quilt, now the bad news......"You're hooked, and one of us" LOL, not a bad club to belong to either if I say so myself.

Just re-read this... would you please explain what you mean by "...should not sew them in the same direction all the time..." I bet I didn't sew the strips together correctly. It looked so easy when Jenny did it! This was only a 20 strip roll and I had a mess at times, I can't imagine what I'll do with 40!

You should see MY 1st quilt! It's sorta a lap quilt & I keep it just to show folks how far I've come in quilting. I don't do the fancy or really complicated...yet, but they are in my not to distant future. After I get my sewing room back in sewing shape.

Keep up the good work. You've come to the BEST quilting board!!!

    Keep posting pics!

You did a great job on that, it will be so nice once it's trimmed and finished. I love pink and white together!

Jelly rolls are a wonderful way to experiment. Try looking at Jenny's 4 x 4 quilt tutorial. Just remember to cut at 5" and not at 4.5. I missed the correction but caught it after one miscut. It is a great way to make make a quilt that looks harder than it is. You will love quilting. Find a guild and let them inspire you. By the way great first start.
