    Default Looking for ideas

We are buying a lake home, and the seller has been amazing and generous. This was his parent's home for nearly 25 years and it's very painful and emotional for him to sell it. He has chosen us as buyers because he believes that we understand the legacy of the home his parents built and will honor that legacy.

I would like to make a small gift for him that is meaningful and honors his parents and the property. The only idea I have is to transfer a photo of the home to fabric and make a wall hanging with it and a patch that says, "Memories are made at the Lake."

Everyone here is so creative; I thought I'd throw it out and see what ideas you might have. Thanks in advance.

I like that! My Sister in law had a painting done in watercolors of their house. It was so pretty and hangs in the house.

Lovely idea. Not sure if this is something you're looking for - haven't checked through all of them but there might some ideas there. The sites I did look at seemed to involve an awlful lot of small squares Hope you find a way - they will be so pleased.

You are blessed to be chosen to take over the property. I'm betting whatever you decide will be adequate. Do you have the skill to make a landscape quilt? Judyusmc just finished a class and there are designs on line of lakes.

I think that would be awesome!

Check out Spoonflower for photo transferred to cloth. We made a memory quilt for a friend of my husband and he sent 36 photos to Spoonflower and when it came back, he chose 24 of those photos for the quilt. They transfer photos onto any of their fabric. You can't send fabric to them. We chose Kona Cotton (white) and it came out really well. DH had trouble choosing the 24 photos. There were only a couple that came out a little dark.

I told him since he was sending all those photo's that he could also send the info for the label. That turned out really great.
