Default 3 Dudes Quilt. - made one? Question for you.

I am making the 3 Dudes quilt for a girlfriend, and will be making it for a queen size bed. I will add more medium shaded blocks to make larger. Here is my WIP. Click image for larger version.

Has anyone made it larger than the current pattern, and can you share pictures.

I got the 9 strips sewn together to make the first blocks. The pattern indicated the strip set should measure 14 1/4". I checked my 1/4" seam, and the most I got was 13 3/4". Did anyone else has this issue?

    Thanks

I was part of a group here that made these with Christmas fabrics. I believe you have to go to a really scant 1/4" seam. Someone who knows better might have a better answer for you. As long as yours are all consistent, does it really make a difference? They really look nice.

True Monique. I am just cutting all down to smaller size.
I would love to see that done in xmas fabrics. It would be beautiful.

Hi, the one I made is the regular throw size. And did have a similar issue with block size that you did.

Oh my. Irene your quilts are gorgeous. The colours are vibrant. I hope mine looks half as good as yours. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for the nice comments on my quilt. I used the same Jellyroll strip set and layout that Rob used in the video tutorial. Once the quilt was finished, I had no plans to make the pattern again. But now seeing the different color ways pictured here I am thinking about it.
