    I'm with Sandy... isn't that what this is all about,,, being unique and creative... think out of the box... heref are many items made with Home Dec fabrics of all kinds)

    I use them for the bottom and tops of chair cushions, kitchen chairs, stools, etc.

    When I was growing up, my dad had an upholstery business on the side after his regular job. When I was a teenager, I would make my own clothes. I remember making a black and white herringbone mini skirt and jacket. I also made jackets from the velour. I was certainly known for my eclectic tastes and often had people asking me to make them clothes. So YES you could make a quilt with upholstery fabric. I would wash it before to soften it up as not all are made the same. Depending on your climate, you may not have to add a layer of batting, maybe just back with fleece, flannel or minky.

    Good luck. Oh, and use denim needles.

    Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.
