    Default Bacon

I admit I love bacon way more than I should but I always hated cooking it due to the mess & clean up.

Easiest way to cook bacon with no grease splatter & less bacon smell.

    Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Line a cookie sheet with aluminium foil, making sure you go up & over the sides of the pan.

Lay out bacon in a long row. It's okay if they touch but don't overlap.

For regular/thin bacon I set the timer for 9 minutes but do peek to see how it looks.

For thick bacon I set the timer for 14 minutes but it sometimes takes up to 20 minutes. (I love really crispy bacon)

The bacon will get crisper after removing from oven so unless you want burnt bacon don't let it go to long.

Move bacon to some paper towels to drain.

After the paper towels are used I lay them in the pan & let them soak up the grease. If you are careful you can pull up the foil, close it up & the pan will be clean!

I made mom's bacon like this for years. I used turkey bacon for her, not too much grease. DH wanted BLTs the other day, I had him bake the bacon. He decided he liked baking it better than getting popped.

Bacon is good food! mmmmmm I have never tried bacon in the oven . What a wonderful idea . I'm going to give that a try next time I fix it. Have you ever had thick cherry wood bacon? Its really good on a BLT.

I do my bacon in the oven too but prefer the way it comes out using parchment paper. Pioneer woman has an article about this on her website. She compares different methods. I like to do at least a pound at a time. What I don't use I freeze and use for other things later.

I had one like that but it ma,es a big mess in the microwave. We use a flat one looks like a grill pan almost with a lid. No messy microwave super good bacon.

I buy the thick cherry wood bacon every other time. DH loves just the regular thick bacon.

I make oven bacon a lot. I like crispy bacon but find if I under cook it just a bit it crisps up perfectly in the microwave. I keep it in a ziplock in the fridge to make quick BLTs for lunch. you do have to watch it in the oven cause it can go from perfect to burned fast. It's a great way to make bacon for a crowd

I'm curious. Doesn't the bacon splatter all over the interior of the microwave using that? I can't imagine that it does and people would still use it and yet I can't imagine it doesn't with it sticking up like that???
