God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Wow! You are doing an amazing job! Love the little pebbles!

How much time a day do you spend on it? Do you practice a little everyday? Do you doodle like I've been told you need to do? I want so bad to be able to FMQ, but don't feel like I the time.

ANIKA (yes, I was yelling at you so I made sure you heard me) - your quilting has taken off like you never dreamed possible! Practice is always required - but when you are good, when you are GREAT - you are there!!

    Hi

I try to sew as often I get the chance. When I am cooking and you have to wait for the food to be cooked. I sit down at the machine and sew for a few minutes or so. But then there can go days between the days I sew also. But I made a conscious decision that this year I was gonna concentrate on getting as much sewing in as possible to try to make a difference in my fmq.

I find that jumping straight in to quilt a big quilt helped out. To plan what to sew ahead of time helps and it make you relax because you know what to sew and where.

And most of all. I have given myself permission to mess up and do not rip it out if I mess it up. It took the need to make it all so perfect right out of the equation and it seem like when I relaxed and went with the flow it all fell in place.

If you want to fmq you should do it. It is fun. Doodling is good to make the brain get the pattern. But the key is getting to know your body and your machine and their interaction with each other and permission to slip up every now and then.

Just do not give up and do not bet yourself up if the stitches does not look like you thought. Put the sandwiches away and look at it again a few days later and you might be surprised that it actually is not so bad as you thought!

    Good luck !
