I have a rose colored Nechi, made in Italy in 1959 or so. It's lovely. However, there is no foot pedal, but if you look up inside the cabinet, I'm sure there is a knee lever or whatever it's called. That's what mine has.

Thank you everyone for all your encouraging responses. I went after work Monday and picked it up and I am definitely keeping it! I didn't know about the storage in the seat until I did some research Sunday night and kept wondering all day Monday if I would find anything in the storage drawer.Boy, did I! I found a bunch of different feet, some of which I am not even sure what they are, a ruffler, bobbins, extra bobbin case, some pieces of material and the owner's registration card! It was sold in October, 1952 in Newport News, VA! I plugged it in Monday night and it runs so quietly and smoothly. Tonight I wound a bobbin and did some stitching on the scrap material. I can't wait to piece my niece's quilt top for her baby shower next month! I was concerned I didn't see a foot pedal but it has the knee lever which I like. The only thing is I wish I had the manual. I still can't believe I found this at my Goodwill! I can't wait to get sewing on it! I think my Universal just got bumped as my quilt piecing machine Thanks again for your encouragement and input!

I'm so glad you got it. I truly feel like you would have regretted it if you didn't. I did a quick search on eBay for Necchi Manuals and this is what came up:

Maybe you can find a manual for your model.

And some free ones - not sure what model you have: https://freenecchisewingmachinefiles.weebly.com/
