Can someone explain how to put these blocks together? Do I use binding? Or sew back to back and turn rightside out? Confused!!4d406fb0f26a479c9b558d03491cae9d.jpg

Re: How do I make these blocks?
Depending on how close to the edge you top stitched, you don't need to hand stitch it closed as it will be caught in the top stitching. In your original post you say "sew back to back" - just want to clarify you are actually going to sew front to front - in other words right sides of fabric together. Leave a small opening for turning and again, you should be able to catch that opening with your top stitching. It is a cute little ornament.Debbie

That is a cute idea! Do you have a sample or just a picture to work with? I'd make a sample to start with to work out the kinks. It looks like the blocks may increase by 1/2" to an 1".Katrina

Re: How do I make these blocks?
Like you I also saw the picture and no instructions. I played with paper squares to get it the size I wanted and placement lines for putting the squares together. I made it more for door hanger size and cut fabric squares and batting 10", 9", 8", 7", 6"and 5". Stitched 1/4" seams, turned and topped stitched. Start with bottom square, turn up corner, place next square flat on top and stitch a line across to catch the turned up corner, continue process with each square.

Re: How do I make these blocks?
Very cute and I like that you could make it bigger for a door or small enough to hang on a tree. And yes, no binding needed. Once you turn it right side out the topstitching will create the appearance of a binding because it will create sort of a ditch 1/4" from the outside edge. Sorry if I am not explaining this very well.Jocelyn
