When we made dresses for Guatamala, we used an A line pattern, and a trick to avoid binding/hemming/trimming the sleeveless armholes. I don't know the pattern for the dresses, but this trick may help. I posted it on my blog recently. https://whatwerks.wordpress.com/2017...less-shortcut/

Thanks for the responses and links for the pillow case dresses. We heard from our youngest brother, today and another aunt. It's not good. I am using cheater panels to make thin quilt/blankets so the kids will have something .... new! ....and to keep the bugs off. My daughter and son-in-law will go there next month as she is a P.A.c., and bring medical supplies and what I make. It feels so small.
I wish I had more "cheater panels" but I've already broke the bank buying what I can.

    Thanks everyone,

Currently there is NO electricity. Yes some aid has arrived but getting these items to needed residents is difficult because there is noone to drive supply vehicle (this was on the news today--- the drivers are dealing with their own homes/families)

I'm not sure sending clothing is the best idea. Did you see the Harvey story where there was so much they ended throwing most of it away

Just watching the news tonight I question the logistics of getting much to PR. The military are making flights with necessities like water, fuel, generators, etc. Many people seem to be wading through waist deep water to get places. I think only 1 cell tower is functional. The majority have no power. The devastation is just overwhelming. Everything has to come in by air or ship. My LQS is partnering with M* with quilts to Hurricane Harvey survivors. Haven't heard anything about Irma or Marie or the Caribbean.

I thought I saved more free patterns, they ended up being from Etsy. This one is cute though.

I just saw on the NBC website that there are thousands of containers packed full of relief supplies, medicine, construction materials, food, etc. that have arrived in San Juan and are on the docks. HOWEVER. The infrastructure is mostly destroyed, and the truck drivers and their trucks have not returned to work yet. I suppose they are taking care of their own families right now, and who can blame them? Plus, the roads are mostly destroyed. I understand the situation in the areas outside of the cities is even worse. I know the military is distributing thousands of satellite phones all over the island since the cell towers are all destroyed except for one. So perhaps phone services will again be available and the people can learn what is arriving at their docks or already there. It's just hard to imagine how impossible all this is for Puerto Rico.
