Default Halloween quilt - spider web

    Hi all,

Here's my latest completed quilt - a spiderweb lap quilt (or table topper) for a friend of mine who is gonzo about Halloween. This project was more freeform than I am used to, and despite having to adjust the pattern several times (the original pattern had 8 sections, not 9), I think the end result turned out neat.

FYI I nearly didn't find a curved tool big enough to do the shallow webbing... I wound up using a hula hoop as the original template and then the resulting scrap was used to mark all the other pieces.

The original pattern is from this blog: http://scrapatches.blogspot.com/2014...14-my-new.html

I increased the size of the squares to 4.5" as I wanted a bigger quilt. If you do this, learn from my mistake and hold off on trimming your 45 degree angles until AFTER you add all of the curved webbing. That might save you from having to cobble together a 9th section like I had to.
