Question Orange Peel Quilt featuring Bluebell by Nancy Gere for Windham

I've finished the orange peel pieces and need to order the 5 inch squares for the background. Because whites can vary so much, can anyone tell me what white fabric line Jenny used to go with the Bluebell line? Thanks for your help!

I don't think Jenny said what she used for the background on her Orange Peel quilt and the background color wasn't listed on the tutorial. When I made mine I used Optical White by Cotton Supreme. Kona Snow would also be a good choice. I also used Bluebell and then I scalloped the outer border. Let me see if I can show you a picture...

Jenny used Bella. If you go to precuts 5" white only 1 Bella solid shows up.

Your quilt is beautiful and the scalloped outer border really sets it off. Can't imagine doing the binding though.

I went to a Jenny Doan trunk show last week and she talked about scalloped binding and how it's nowhere near as hard as it looks... she said you 1. use bias binding and 2. just pull the edge straight when you're sewing the indents. I may have to try scalloped binding at some point and see for myself.

The best tip I can give you when doing scalloped borders: Of course use bias binding. When you sew the binding to your quilt top make sure your bobbin thread is dark enough that you can easily see it when you are hand hemming the binding it to the back. That way you can see exactly how far to roll the binding back. The process is not terribly hard but it does take extra time, but it's worth it.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Bubby, your quilt is beautiful and I'll remember the scallop hints when I get to that part.
