Default thread for the bobbin when FMQ

I have often used embroidery thread for the top thread when FMQ but always used either bottomline or regular thread for the bobbin. Now I need some light lavender thread and wonder if the embroidery thread would work OK as a bobbin thread. I have plenty of it and don't want to order the wrong color thread since it is hard to tell colors online.

I guess if it OK on the top it would be OK on the bottom, just asking if anyone has experience.

I use Isacord polyester thread in the needle and on the bobbin when quilting. I think it's considered an embroidery thread.

I have used both Isacord and Connecting Threads Essential Pro polyester thread in the bobbin for FMQ. As long as you adjust the tension they work in the bobbin just fine.

I've never used embroidery thread for FMQ, so I cannot speak from experience. I usually use the same thread both top & bottom. My one attempt at Bottom Line didn't work. I've never tried it since. I think I gave it away.

They don't seem to make bottomline in a light lavender, otherwise I would have ordered some. If my machine ever gets home from being fixed I think I will try the embroidery thread both top and bottom and will report back.
It works very well on top.

I have also used embroidery thread top and bottom, worked fine for me. I don't always play by the rules though. I use what ever thread I have or can get in the color I need. Frequently mix types of thread with no issues. My machine loves all thread. No loyalty to anyone brand name here.

LOL I was thinking of embroidery floss and could not imagine how you would free motion quilt with it! As I read on I realized you mean machine embroidery thread. It has answered a question for me tho. I always wondered if you could use machine embroidery thread for fmq
