    Default Placemat pattern

My granddaughter wants me to make her a set of modern placemats. What she wants is different size lengths of colored fabrics (gray, teal, white) with a darker gray piece on both ends of the colored length. I'm guessing this is clear as mud. She sent me a picture from Pintrest but I am not sure if I can add it or if that is not acceptable. I guess I am wondering if I can just make the strips, lay them out how I want them and then QAYG them on the batting and backing. Then trim them down to the size I want for the placemat and bind. Have not done this before but it does seem doable. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hello from one Sharyn J to another! Are you looking to make something like this? If so, that would be easy enough to make strips and add on the dark gray to the end of each strip. If you used 2 1/2" strips, that would be simple to quilt as you go.
